CÉCILE B. EVANS

Reality or Not

Reality or Not is a video installation telling the story of a group of students from a high school located in the northern suburbs of Paris who take part in a radical experiment aimed at appropriating the reality that surrounds them and modifying it independently. It is the latest chapter in a line of research that Evans has been working on since the beginning of his career. With the aim of transforming the very concept of reality in a society increasingly crowded with alternative digital worlds, Reality or Not calls into question the possibility of distinguishing between the real and the virtual in the contemporary world and the psychological and cognitive repercussions of this mix.
