Foto/Industria 2023. GAME
Biennial of Photography on Industry and Work

Catalogue curated by Francesco Zanot
Texts by Marco De Mutiis, David Elliott, Milo Keller, Katia Reich, Urs Stahel, Francesco Zanot
Design by Brian Paul Lamotte
Bilingual edition, Italian / English

The Foto/Industria 2023 catalogue offers an overview of the sixth edition of the biennale promoted by Fondazione MAST. The central topic is the game industry: a sector which, from children’s toys to amusement parks, from role-playing games to video games, has grown to unprecedented proportions, incorporating themes that are extraordinarily relevant.
The publication is an important tool to discover the works of eleven solo and one group exhibitions and shed light, through photography and art, on the relationship between games and industry.
In the catalogue the works of the artists are juxtaposed and alternated with the intention of reconstructing a unified narrative that reflects the composite nature of the theme, while unfolding a concatenation of continuous surprises. Images from the past and the present, by different authors, taken in diverse locations and for equally diverse reasons are seamlessly mixed together – like the visual essays by John Berger ad Hans-Peter Feldmann, or a combinatorial game in which the different pieces change places to generate new forms, meanings, and interpretations.

208 pages, 280 color illustrations
16 x 24 cm
30€
The catalogue is available at the bookshop of Fondazione MAST and at all exhibition venues.
