In occasion of EXPO 2015 in Milan, Massimo Bottura created a project in collaboration with Caritas Ambrosiana, inviting fifty international colleagues to join him and transform leftover food into nutritious and delicious dishes for the most fragile members of the community. The “Refettorio Ambrosiano” was the site of a unique social project that led Massimo Bottura and his wife Lara Gilmore to found the non-profit organisation Food for Soul in 2016. The adventure of Bottura and the first refectory was filmed by director Peter Svatek, who documented the experience of chefs such as René Redzepi, Daniel Humm, Virgilio Martinez and Alain Ducasse. The docufilm  “Theater of Life” was released in 2016.

Massimo Bottura is a renowned Italian chef, owner of the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Osteria Francescana. He is also a contemporary art collector and philanthropist.

Trademark: The Osborne Bull

Graphic and photographic art has been used to define the identity of an infinite number of products, some images are still part of our collective imagination.

This lesson wants to investigate how in the history of communication some trademarks have created models and meanings capable of conditioning entire generations. Specifically, the author will examine the unique case of the Osborne Bull, through the project “Toros.The marking of a territory”.

The true story of lawyer Robert Bilott tand his legal battle against chemical giant DuPont for contaminating the water of a rural West Virginia community. The film is based on the 2016 New York Times Magazine article.

FAMILY TOUR DAY

MAST

On Sunday afternoons the MAST Foundation offers Family Tour Day: educational activities and movies designed for families. Participants in the activities is free of charge.

The family tour comprises a guided tour of the exhibition, workshop dedicated to the work of Ando Gilardi, one of the most eclectic artists in the history of Italian photography, and a screening dedicated to children.

The Family Tour Day is for a maximum of 10 children aged 6 to 12.
Parents can take part in the visit and in the workshop activity or leave the children to the cultural mediators and meet them in the Cafeteria for a snack together. After that it is possible to go to MAST.Auditorium to watch the movie.

Screening Chicken Run, Peter Lord, Nick Park (2000, 84′)

A group of chickens live inside a farm that is actually a real prison, fenced by barbed wire. The little chicken’s houses are the only places where it is possible to find some rest. For the rest, the owner, the wicked Mrs. Tweedy, has organized the farm as if it were a work camp. In collaboration with Cineteca di Bologna.

Admission to the screening is open to all visitors subject to availability.
